The Aston Villa striker was named Man of the Match after a goal and assist in Saturday's Premier League win over Wigan but is focussed on fixing a back problem which is limiting his time on the pitch.
"I got a text (from England) saying I'd be in contention but I want to get myself right," Agbonlahor told the Birmingham Mail. "I've had a back problem and I've got to go and see a specialist in London. Hopefully I'll get it fixed during the international break.
"It's been stopping me in games. I've been suffering with pains in my lower back. Hopefully, if this can sort it, I'll be delighted. I've not had injections because of all the games we've been playing.
"If I can get it sorted, I could be on fire. It comes and goes during games. That's why I came off on Saturday because the pain was too much. But I don't want to moan about it.
"I'm not getting ahead of myself. The manager, Fabio, knows what I can do. It looks like I'll miss this meet-up but there's more to come before the Euros. I'll keep working hard and hopefully get another chance."
