The 24-year-old forward is a boyhood Villa supporter and pledged his long-term future to the club earlier this season when he signed a deal until 2015.
Agbonlahor has already made more than 200 appearances for the club but is hoping he can fulfil his childhood dream and wear the captain's armband.
"I'm committed to the club and that's why I signed a new contract," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"Aston Villa means everything really. When you see other players that are linked with other clubs you don't really see my name linked with anywhere else. Other clubs know that this is where I want to play my football.
"It would be nice to get the armband in a one-off game or to be the regular captain, but that's not really on my mind at the moment - maybe one day in the future."
