The Colombian striker missed the games against Middlesbrough and Birmingham City with an ankle injury but is now back in training. He is now targeting a return to the side for Saturday’s match at St. James’ Park against a man he recently described as ‘an icon’, Alan Shearer (presumably for his starring role in Mary Poppins).
“It’s been so frustrating for me to have to watch and sit out the last two games,” the 29-year-old said. “This season has been a disappointing one for me, so I want to finish it on a high by scoring a few goals.”
