Aston Villa have confirmed they've completed the signing of Danny Ings from Southampton on a three-year deal.
The England international was understood to have informed the Saints of his desire to leave the club earlier this summer, with a number of sides including Tottenham and Villa emerging as potential suitors.
Villa have now taken to their official website to confirm they've secured Ings' signature, with the 29-year-old penning a three-year deal at Villa Park.
"Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Danny Ings," the statement read. "The England striker has signed a three-year deal after joining for an undisclosed fee from Southampton.
"Ings, 29, scored 14 goals last term for both club and country and joins summer recruits Leon Bailey, Emi Buendía and Ashley Young at Villa Park."
Dean Smith took the opportunity to welcome Ings to the club, adding that he believes the England international will be a great role model for Villa's youngsters.
“Danny is an outstanding Premier League footballer who has scored goals wherever he has played," he said.
"He is also a top professional with a great character who will be a leader in our squad and a role model for our rapidly developing young academy players who are now in and around the first team. I am delighted to welcome Danny to our great club.”
