After being withdrawn at half time against Kazhakstan on Saturday, England's Villa midfielder Gareth Barry may just fear for his starting spot on Wednesday against Belarus.
England went on to win 5-1, with all goals scored n the second half after Barry had been replaced by Man City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Fabio Capello, like Steve McClaren before him, was attempting to gel Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, meaning Barry was the man to be sacrificed.
The substitution could be viewed as a positive switch with Kazakhstan causing few problems and Capello searching for more attacking emphasis.
But the question remains - will Barry miss out in Belarus after such an emphatic 45 minute display without him in the side?
Be warned Fabio, it didn't work for you predecessors and it won't work for you.
Barry must be given the holding role if England are to be successful.
It showed in Croatia and surely the Italian boss will start the key Villa midfielder for the tricky clash against Alexander Hleb and co.
