Championship promotion chasers Burnley have signed young Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso on loan for the rest of the season. The Clarets were rocked at the weekend when they lost January transfer window signing Charlie Austin for the season with a freak shoulder injury.
But Burnley boss Eddie Howe has responded rapidly by bringing in the England Under-21 international.
Delfouneso, 20, is in the Burnley squad for Tuesday's trip to Hull City.
Birmingham-born Delfouneso, a product of Villa's Academy, has scored two goals this season - both against Lancashire clubs.
He scored in Villa's 3-2 win over Blackpool in November and also in the 3-1 FA Cup fourth round win over Blackburn in January.
He has scored eight goals in his three seasons chasing a first-team place at Villa, in 41 appearances, most of which have come via the bench.
