Villa fan Gary Cahill took out his frustrations on ex-teammate Gareth Barry during an England training session in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Centre-back Cahill, who left Villa for Bolton last summer, was called up to the squad as a replacement for Manchester United man RIo Ferdinand ahead of Saturday's clash with the Kazakhs.
And he certainly made an instant impact with a crunching tackle that left Barry understandibly shaken and somewhat surprised.
The pair then refused to kiss and make up as they continued their feud until the end of the session.
Barry, who recently signed for Manchester City, was clearly not impressed with Cahill's actions and one has to wonder whether the Trotters defender was gaining what he saw as revenge on behalf of all Villa fans.
Sections of Claret and Blue faithful were dismayed at Barry's decision to join the Blue Moon boys and Cahill obviously took it harder than most.
Unfortunately, though, he may now face a telling off from England supremo Fabio Capello for what was, at best, a rash challenge.
