Scott Carson could be looking at a return to Liverpool in the summer after Villa apparently beat Celtic to the signing of U.S.A. keeper Brad Guzan.
Guzan who has played five times for his national team, has attracted strong interest from the Premiership. It was rumoured that Celtic were close to signing him, but according to reports the Claret and Blue are to secure his signature for £2.2 million.
That would mean Villa would be even less likely to pay £10 million for current keeper Scott Carson, who could have joined in January. However, the club seem to have had a re-think after his high profile error for the England side and a series of shaky performances at club level.
Guzan would undoubtedly be a cheaper alternative and his club Chivas would not stop him from securing his dream move.
