Aston Villa announced the signing in August for a fee believed to be around ?7million. At the time this seemed a large amount of money for a relatively unknown striker playing in Belgium but now looks like a fantastic piece of business.
The 6ft 3 powerhouse has netted eight goals in 17 appearances for Villa and only seems to be improving. He?s got pace, power and an eye for goal which is causing all sorts of problems for Premier league defences. He has also assisted six times in these 17 appearances meaning that he has contributed to 14 goals in just 17 games for Aston Villa.
The clubs record signing Darren Bent is merely a forgotten man around Birmingham these days and looks like a move elsewhere is on the cards.
Aston Villa are the joint lowest scorers in the division along with QPR and Stoke City and will need the Belgian to continue his form if they are to steer clear of the relegation zone.
In recent weeks the young Villa side have really shown vast improvement and they know that a lot of their recent success is down to the 22 year-old up front.
