Delaney Targetting April Comeback

The Welsh international had feared he could be out for the remainder of the season with the ankle injury sustained following the horror tackle by Fulham's Carlos Bocanegra during Villa's game at Loftus Road a fortnight ago.

"If everything goes really well and there are no setbacks, then we could be talking about me playing in four to five weeks," he said.

"That would be really good and the prospect of that has cheered me up. Now I'm looking to get back playing at the beginning of April.

"The operation went really well. Some pieces of bone had to be removed and I had to take it easy for a couple of days but the swelling has gone and I am now able to get back on the exercise bikes and work on my general fitness."
