FitzGerald reveals star formula

League rules forbid winners of the European Cup to wear a star representing their triumph, although Liverpool and Manchester United do when they play in the Champions League and England have a star on their shirts as homage to their 1966 World Cup win. Villa are currently drawing up a new crest and a star is almost certain to feature to represent the 1982 success, limbo-ing under Premier League rules like a Trinidadian veteran. “We are considering building a star into the crest as Premier League rules will not allow a star above the crest on our own team shirts."
FitzGerald also said an increase in prices was "unlikely" for next season, especially in lieu of the huge increases in television revenues expected in the near future. Villa's attendances are up to 35,143 (ninth highest in the Premiership) from an average of 34,111 last term.
