Focus on club not country

Gabby Agbonlahor was back to his early season best yesterday as Villa over-ran and outclassed Bolton.
Agbonlahor was typically quick, subtly strong and finished his one chance with aplomb.
But even though the young striker proved his worth against the Trotters, he must continue to show that his place in the Villa starting line-up is merited.
Agbonlahor was ruled out of England action due to injury after Fabio Capello selected him in the squad for the game against Switzerland.
He then missed the cut for the game against France due to his goal drought and more specifically a particularly poor display against Sunderland.
Capello concisely realised that if Gabby wasn't up to taking on Nyron Nosworthy, he wouldn't be giving William Gallas any sleepless nights.
Agbonlahor had failed to score in 2008 until he broke his duck yesterday. Marlon Harewood continues to be a lethal weapon from the bench meaning Gabby must continue to prove himself.
What he can't afford to do is focus on country before he is settled for club.
Agbonlahor must get on with his day job and think about England if the opportunity arises.
Capello is clearly open to new options and if Gabby is in form he is one of the most exciting players from a distinctly average bunch.
But, one good game is not good enough.
Consistency is the key and our young hopeful must keep his feet on the ground, if he has any aspirations of reaching the heights of an England debut.
