Gabby makes Villa commitment

The England Under-21 forward signed a new deal 12 months ago but his form this season has earned him an improved contract. He notched up his seventh goal of the season against Everton on Monday and Martin O'Neill said: "Gabby has been superb for us this season. Like with any young player he has had the occasional up and down, but overall he has been excellent. He has done remarkably well and until I substituted him at Reading in February he has played every minute of every game." The 20-year-old may be the first of several similar deals, with O'Neill hoping to tie up Gavin McCann and Olof Mellberg with new deals.
