Gudjonsson set for Villa debut

With Ian Taylor suspended for the clash at the Riverside, manager Graham Taylor could well give the Icelandic international midfielder his Villa bow with a place in the starting eleven for the game with 'Boro.

Taylor told www.avfc.co.uk: “He’s a 22-year-old midfielder. He’s got lots of energy, he’s very competitive. He’s also a good passer and he also creates space for himself.

“We’ve been very impressed with him and we can’t see what we can lose by having him here until the end of the season.

"He would like to make it a permanent move but I think this is the right thing to do

"He hasn't played a great deal for Betis, and has found himself out of favour there, but it's what he does for us, not for them. And so far he's done very well."
