Hamburg roll in for Baros

The Bundesliga giants are hopeful of talks with David O'Leary in Birmingham later this week after putting the 24-year-old Czech international atop their wanted list. The deal would represent a smart piece of business by Villa, who would make a £1m profit on Baros 11 months after he joined from Liverpool. He scored 12 goals in 29 games last season although if Villa stall, Hamburg coach Thomas Doll could avert his attentions to Nurnberg's Robert Vittek, 24, who bagged 16 Bundesliga goals last term.
