"It's been excellent. I'm back playing football again and that's what I wanted to do," Hendrie told Villa's official website.
"It was a bit of a gamble, because my confidence was low and if I hadn't performed at this level, no disrespect, it would have been a bit difficult.
"People would have maybe judged me and said I wasn't good enough for that standard. But I've really enjoyed it.
"I've been there for a month now and it was a two-month deal, with an option for another month. So I presume it's going to be another couple of months.
"Being away definitely makes me want to get back into the (Villa) team, without a shadow of a doubt.
"I obviously want the boys to be doing well every week and they are. I'm really pleased about that and I'm always checking out the results.
"I'm definitely looking to come back and try and make an impact if I can. "
