Knee knock ruins McGurk hopes

The 18-year-old has been promoted to Villa's senior squad in recent weeks following a number of eye-catching appearances for the reserves, joining them on the club's recent training trip to Marbella, but he was injured in training last week. McGurk, a former Northern Ireland U17 international who joined from Larne Youth in 2004, will now be assessed by specialists, but Villa are believed to be ready to fly McGurk out to top surgeon Richard Steadman in the United States.
