The 22-year-old, who has made seven appearances for Simon Grayson's side since arriving early last month, will stay with the West Yorkshire club until after the last game at QPR on May 7.
Grayson said: "Eric has done well since he came here. He's shown his qualities and gives us good competition in the right-back area.
"We're delighted Villa have agreed to allow him to remain here until the end of the league season."
Lichaj's Villa team-mate Barry Bannan joined him on loan at Elland Road recently and made his home debut in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Ipswich.
