Luke Moore has completed his loan move to West Brom. The England Under-21 striker has moved on a deal that could lead to a £3.5 million move in the summer. Villa do have the option to recall Moore after 28 days of his loan spell but that looks particularly unlikely.
Moore's days at the club where he developed seem numbered just two years after he appeared to have finally established himself in the first team. The striker was only 19 when he scored a brilliant hattrick at the Riverside. It looked like he had the world at his feet especially as he had eclipsed the prodigious Wayne Rooney in the Youth Cup final of 2002.
However, Moore never seemed to show the consistency that he had in the Academy which would have seen him become a regular in the Villa first team.
He only scored twice in 18 appearances this season and failed to impress as John Carew ad Gabby Agbonlahor have led the way. Agbonlahor has shown that his potential is now pure class whereas Moore, who arguably was more exciting as a youth team player than his fellow striker, has fallen by the wayside.
He may come back to prove his worth at Premiership level, but it wont be with Villa and he could just be another Englishman who's raw ability never hit the heady heights of expectation.
