"We can go to Wigan next Sunday as confident as we can be.
O'Neill also singled out goalscorer Chris Sutton for special praise after the match: "Chris Sutton was in two minds whether to continue his career or not, he was feeling that was it.
"He wasn't really right at Birmingham, he played when he shouldn't have done.
"He wasn't playing pain free so he had a groin op and he is now regaining his fitness.
"I thought if he was fit he could be an asset to us. He is a really astute centre forward."
