Having waited almost his entire career at Villa Park for a regular starting spot, Nigel Reo-Coker may now have blown his chances all together after a training ground bust up with manager Martin O'Neill.
Reo-Coker, who has spent many a game sitting on the substitutes bench and some in an unfavoured right-back role, appears to have been angered by comments from O'Neill during the session.
The Northern Irishman and the former England under-21 man apparently shared a heated exchange of words resulting in the latter being sent home and dropped for Saturday's home game against Portsmouth.
The irony of it all is that former West Ham star Reo-Coker has recently enjoyed a run in the first team after O'Neill decided to revert back to the successful 4-5-1 system.
The midfielder has been impressive alongside Stiliyan Petrov and Steve Sidwell at the heart of the side and many fans have lauded his displays.
However, he may now be back to square one and despite O'Neill saying he holds no grudges and the player will be back in training on Monday, you can't help but feel that Reo-Coker's first team chances are once again limited.
