The Black Cats moved to the top of the Barclaycard Premiership Reserves League (North) one point clear of Middlesbrough, who play their final game of the season away at Manchester United on Thursday.

Villa are in third place after this latest defeat - Stefan Moore scoring Villa's only goal in the 4-1 reverse.
