Taylor said: "“I thought for the first 30 minutes of the game it was hard to say who was in the top-three and who wasn’t.
“We had played well, but what is very hard for me to understand is the last 15 minutes of the first-half and our second-half performance.
“Chelsea came on and got a couple of free-kicks. From that moment on, we never actually seemed to get into the grove that we’d had in the first 30 minutes.
“In the second-half we were very poor. It’s very hard to explain. It does happen, I realise that, but over the last six to eight weeks we’ve been playing well and the second-half today was out worst performance over that period of time. That’s very disappointing.”
“I’m not saying anything that hasn’t been said in the dressing room. You can lose against Liverpool 4-3 as we did and against Newcastle a couple of weeks ago, but know you’ve given all you can.
“But today, particularly after the second goal went in, I thought too many heads dropped and that’s got to be addressed and addressed very seriously.
“Our quality of play was poor. That can happen to the very best players, but that’s when you have to dig in. That’s when you have to show a good attitude.
“So what’s disappointed me today, is that I thought the attitude the players showed was not what is expected of them and they know that.”
