"But there was some great strikes and headers and you could take your pick as to what may have been the goal of the match.
"It was a very good performance from us. I know we have played lower league opposition in all three rounds but you have to be very professional because the cup is all about causing shocks.
"That has been the nature of the way we have played, not only against Preston but also Luton and Oxford in the previous rounds.
"That sort of performance can also be a confidence booster to take into the Premiership matches coming up. The general improvement in the side since the draw we made at Manchester United has been there for all to see.
"Preston had already knocked out Birmingham City in this competition so it was important for us not to give them a sniff in the first 15 minutes."
