Also on Xavi's list of alternatives are Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.
Manchester City are also preparing for the event that they are unable to land Haaland and have also identified Lewandowski as an option, with Real Madrid and Manchester United also keeping tabs on the Bayern Munich striker.
Manchester United's other striker target is Harry Kane, with the England captain set to push for a move away from Tottenham again this summer.
