Villarreal linked with Baros

The 24-year-old has failed to settle at Villa Park since his arrival from Liverpool last summer, as his progress has been constantly hampered by injury. Last week his agent revealed the ‘Ostravan Maradona' had a get-out clause in his contract and, representing a £2.5m profit on what Villa paid for him, £9m probably hits that. The figure appears a little steep for a player that has scored just ten goals this season but Baros has consistently impressed in a misfiring outfit, and Villarreal could look to use some of their Champions League windfall on attracting him to Spain. Who knows, if the Valencian outfit have still got some of that potion that they used on Diego Forlan, the Czech striker could soon be hitting 25 goals a season – impossible at Villa.
