Williams waltzes through Baggies

Sam Williams (2), Luke Moore and Peter Whittingham were all on target as a strong reserve lineup swept to victory to keep apace with Manchester United and Middlesbrough at the top of the Reserve League North. The result was never really in doubt when a marauding Villa side opened up a two-goal cushion with two quick-fire strikes midway through the first half. Whittingham broke the deadlock with a low drive on 22 minutes and Williams doubled the lead when he slotted home a rebound four minutes later.

Moore made it 3-0 from the penalty spot just after the half-hour mark and the dominant visitors earned another spot-kick before half-time but assuming the duty, Eric Djemba-Djemba fired straight at Russell Hoult. Williams added a fourth five minutes after the restart as Villa cruised to an emphatic victory.
