Villa have reportedly agreed to sign Kevin Doyle from Reading and Giles Barnes from Derby.
Sources suggest that the players were at Villa Park on Friday to conclude their deals and could even be in on time for the Reading game at the weekend.
If that is the case Doyle, who will reportedly sign for around £6m, won't be able to play due to a gentleman's agreement.
It is rumoured that Luke Moore could be on his way to the Madejski as part of a swap deal for the Irish striker.
Giles Barnes has long been a target of Villa and the England U21 starlet could join for £5m.
West Ham may also have been in the running but it appears that the real Claret and Blue have won the race.
Both signings are expected to be announced by Wednesday. But with Villa nothing is certain so we will wait and see.
