Argentine defender Leandro Fernandez could be the next recruit at Villa Park, according to reports.
The Dinamo Moscow stopper, who was in the side which lost to Celtic on Wednesday, is said to be keen on a move to England.
And the 26 year-old has been linked with a switch to four different Premier League sides, including Villa and Arsenal.
Fernandez has an EU citizenship and is regarded very highly by a host of European sides.
He is a firm fans favourite in Moscow and although it would be difficult for him to leave a club with which he has a strong affinity, the lure of Premier League football would surely sway him.
A fee of around £7m may be enough to persuade Dinamo to part with the player and it now remains to be seen whether English interest materialises.
