Villa are reportedly looking to Romania in their search for Martin Laursen's long-term successor.
Lofty centre-back Dorin Goian, who currently plays for Steaua Bucharest, is the latest name to be linked with the club and a £5.5m swoop is being mooted.
Goian, 28, stands a whopping 1.94m tall and poses an intimidating figure as the strikers of France and Italy found out during Euro 2008.
Romania were impressive during the group stages of that tournament, with their success built upon a solid defence. Needless to say - Bucharest's best played a big part in their resistance.
Goian has been linked with Villa before but whereas previously he was being lined up as a partner for Laursen, now he is seen as the ideal replacement.
The man nicknamed "Goe" is certainly in the running and don't rule out seeing him at Villa Park next season.
