Loan Exodus

Villa goalkeeper Stuart Taylor and midfielder Barry Bannan have completed one month loan moves to Cardiff City and Derby County respectively.

Scottish starlet Bannan has made just one starting appearance for the Claret and Blue, his debut against CSKA Moscow in February.

Taylor has found himself pushed down the pecking order with the summer arrivals of American stoppers Brad Friedel and Brad Guzan.

Cardiff have been having keeper troubles of late with first choice stopper Tom Heaton ruled out through injury and his replacement Dimi Konstantopoulos proving particularly error prone.

Taylor will undoubtedly do them the power of good and he must consider himself unfortunate to never have been given a real chance in the Premiership.

Bannan is still young and learning his trade. He was one of Villa's top performers in Moscow and showed some real ability on the left wing.

Wisdom

Derby have lost midfielders Paul Green and Miles Addison to injury meaning Bannan could soon be seen appearing in the first team.

And what better way to prepare yourself for the top level than to play under the stewardship of one of the game's great names - Clough.

Okay, so it is the legendary Brian Clough's son Nigel, but he is certainly proving that he has picked up some of his father's wisdom in steering County away from the relegation zone.

Another man who may be on the move is Marlon Harewood. The out of favour striker has been linked with a short term move to Villa's local rivals Wolves.

Harewood clearly doesn't figure in the first team picture at Villa Park and the terrace hero definitely deserves a move to get his career back on track.

The Claret and Blue must be careful because with all of these players on the move they may just struggle to send out a reserve team.
