Marlon Harewood is set for another spell in The Championship after agreeing to join title chasing Newcastle United on a three-month loan.
Harewood, 30, should be involved in the Magpies clash with Ipswich on Saturday, as his new boss Chris Hughton is desperate for more striking options.
In the absence of Shola Ameobi, former Nottingham Forest and West Ham hit man Harewood could become a vital part of the promotion push at St James' Park.
He endured a short and ultimately unsuccessful loan at Wolves towards the end of last season with Molineux manager Mick McCarthy unwilling to take him on a permanent deal.
And now it is Hughton and Newcastle who will look to bring the best out of a player who has scored 80 goals in just over 200 games at second tier level.
Martin O'Neill has never really been a fan of the player he signed in July 2007 for £4m and consequently Harewood has only made one league start for Villa.
But the misunderstood striker possesses undoubted pace and power and the Geordie hordes may just see their new loanee at the top of his game as he looks to prove a point.
