Valencia right back Miguel may be the first signing of the transfer window for the Claret and Blue.
Villa have been strongly linked with the Portuguese player over recent days and with the club making no secret of their search for a full back, Miguel could be the man.
He shot to prominence in Euro 2004 as he replaced then Porto player, Paulo Ferreira, at right back after the opening game against Greece. Ferreira who was later signed by Chelsea for a huge fee, could not force his way back into the team because Miguel managed to put in some fantastic performances. Portugal eventually reached the final and Miguel had enhanced his reputation sufficiently to earn a move to Valencia.
He is predominantly an attacking full back but can also defend. One of his main assets is his strength and he is not shy of having a shot or two. Could be just what we're looking for!
