Shaun Maloney is set to put an end to his homesickness with a return to Scottish giants Celtic.
Maloney has publicly admitted missing the land of his birth and Villa have accepted an offer of around £1m for the diminutive winger.
Martin O'Neill signed 'The Scottish Beckham' from his former club at the start of last season but Maloney never managed to hold down a regular starting spot.
The Tartan Army international didn't play too many minutes in Villa's superb sixth place finish during the last campaign but was effective when called upon.
Maloney's Villa highlight came against Fulham when he scored a in injury time in front of the Holte End to secure an early season 2-1 victory.
Similar to fellow super-sub Marlon Harewood, Maloney gained a place in the hearts of the Villa faithful who won't be happy to see him leave.
But, they will acknowledge that the move is best for all parties and wish him well for the future.
Good Luck Shaun!
