Villa are keeping tabs on Anderlecht's Argentine wonder boy Lucas Biglia according to reports in Belgium.
The 23 year old midfielder was viewed by a scout from the Midlands outfit just last weekend and he did not disappoint. Biglia helped his side to a 3-1 victory over Roeselare, capping a faultless personal display with a fantastic goal.
Argentina boss Diego Maradona is reported to have had the starlet watched on a number of occasions fuelling rumours that he will soon be capped at full international level.
Biglia has already played for his county at Under 17 and Under 20 level where he lined up alongside Carlos Tevez and Lionel Messi.
And should he be selected in the Argentina squad for next year's World Cup in South Africa, Biglia would most likely be granted a work permit to play in England.
However, the likelihood is that he will have already been snapped up by then with Barcelona and Real Madrid never shy when a South American star enters their radar.
