Villa look settle to battle with Newcastle for Charlton Athletic starlet Josh Wright.
The 19 year old midfielder captained England at Under-16 and Under-17 level on numerous occasions and is now part of the Under-19 setup.
Wright was on loan at League Two Barnet during the 2007/08 season, where he made 32 appearances scoring one goal.
The promising player impressed during his time with the Londoners and he also enjoyed a one month loan at Brentford.
He eventually made his Charlton debut last October in the 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Wright now looks set to move on to bigger things despite limited first team experience and Villa appear to be his best option should he leave the Valley.
The Claret and Blue have one of the best academy systems in the country and the reserve team are also particularly properous.
This all means that Wright would have surroundings fit to turn him into a top Premier League player.
