The 19-year-old has enjoyed an exponential rise this season, capitalising on injuries to Juan Pablo Angel, Carlton Cole and Darius Vassell, to enjoy a sustained spell in the starting eleven. He scored his first Premiership goal in Villa’s last outing against Middlesbrough a fortnight ago and after showing he is ready to step up at club level, he will get the opportunity to show he can do the same internationally after previously representing England at U19 level.
