Mellberg has been included in Morton Olsen's Sweden squad to face Northern Ireland on 28 March, four days after Group F rivals Denmark take on Spain in Madrid. The Swedes, who welcome Mellberg drinking buddy Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the international fold, currently top the section with four wins from four, and lie five points ahead of Sorenson's second-placed Denmark side. The Villa goalkeeper could be in action on 28 March when the 1992 European Champions take on Germany in a friendly. Martin Laursen is ruled out through injury.
