Villa duo Nathan Delfouneso and Nathan Baker played 90 minutes as England Under-19s got their Uefa European Championship campaign off to a winning start against Austria.
Prodigious talent Delfouneso, who has a prolific record at England youth level, failed to get on the scoresheet as his strike partner, Frank Nouble, stole the show.
West Ham hitman Nouble gave the Three Lions a two-goal lead with strikes on 13 and 29 minutes, and they were cruising.
But the Austrians fought back brilliantly and got themselves back in the game seven minutes after the break through David Alaba.
Noel Blake's men were on the ropes but they managed to spring an attack, which Arsenal ace Tom Cruise finished off.
But the Austrians weren't done yet as frontman Gernot Trauner put the ball in the back of the England net with 17 minutes remaining.
It wasn't enough, though, as Delfouneso, Baker and Co held out for an opening day win, which could prove crucial with games against the Netherlands and France to come.
