Defoe danger

Jermain Defoe will visit Villa park on New Years Day with the aim of helping to defeat the Claret and Blue. However, he may have an alterior motive.
The England striker will aim to attract the attention of Martin O'Neill as ironically the transfer window opens on the day of the game.
Defoe could be the main threat from Villa's opponents. Many will see the on-form Berbatov and the ever eager Keane as likely to start but Ramos may look to rotate as his squad will be tiring after an epic 6-4 win over Reading on Saturday.
If Defoe does line-up from the beginning he will look to expose an even more tired Villa defence as they battled to a win in terrible conditions at Wigan just 3 days previously.
Martin O'Neill looks likely to retain the same starting line-up with the exception of injured John Carew. Luke Moore is likely to replace him as he did at the JJB and goalscoring debutant Curtis Davies is likely to start and attempt to shut out Defoe and Co.
Juande Ramos may welcome back Didier Zokora and Michael Dawson for the trip and Spurs will be aiming to defend better than they did in the 4-4 draw at White Hart Lane earlier in the season.
Villa could move into the top 6 with a win and Martin O'Neill will be eager to return to winning ways at home after poor recent results at Villa Park.
Lets just hope Defoe saves his best form for when he wears a Claret and Blue shirt.
Come on Villa!
