Villa fans will get the perfect chance to pay tribute to Paul Birch as one of his former clubs - Doncaster - come to town for an F.A. Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday night.
Birch, who died on Monday, was a true hero for the Claret and Blue, having played for the club from 1980-1991.
The talented midfielder played for Rovers during the 1996/97 season, making 27 appearances.
There will be a minutes rememberance prior to kick off at Villa Park.
This game between two of his former sides provides ample opportunity to remember a man who was taken to the hearts of many on the terraces.
Villa will be looking to remember Birch in the best possible way - with a win.
Should the Claret and Blue triumph, then a fifth round tie on Merseyside awaits. They will play either Liverpool or Everton, who replay at Goodison Park.
Martin O'Neill is very much up for the cup this year and he will be looking for Villa to go all the way to Wembley.
However, he has admitted that he may have to prioritise with plenty of big fixtures coming up, including a Uefa Cup tie and a league game against Chelsea.
That means he is likely to rest key players for the visit of the Vikings, but two big names who are almost certain to start are John Carew and Ashley Young.
Carew has just returned from injury and needs the match practice, whilst Young is back from a three match suspension.
Gabby Agbonlahor is likely to be rested while Stiliyan Petrov is suspended.
Gareth Barry looks set to captain the side again and there may even be an appearance from teen prodigy Nathan Delfouneso.
For Doncaster, new signings Dean Shiels and Steve Brooker miss out and influential skipper Brian Stock is doubtful.
Both sides may have other priorities but they owe it to the memory of Paul Birch to make this a real cup cracker.
He will be watching on so don't disappoint boys!
