Austrian striker Andreas Weimann struck a brace as Villa reserves beat Chelsea at Villa Park.
Weimann, netted in either half and his efforts sandwiched a superb overhead-kick from Ciaran Clark, which gave Villa the lead after Kenny Strickland had equalised for the away side.
The big news from the game, though, was not Weimann's goals but the return of Wilfred Bouma from injury.
The injury-ravaged left-back managed to grab some all important minutes alongside another long-term absentee Curtis Davies.
Both players looked assured and Davies could have got on the scoresheet in a game that was dominated by the all-conquering Villa second string.
Ciaran Clark and Nathan Delfouneso also made appearances in the starting line-up as the Claret and Blue named a very strong side.
